WARREN (WWJ) -- Some labor problems could be brewing at an automotive plant in Macomb County.

WWJ Auto Beat Reporter Jeff Gilbert says about 1,000 members of UAW Local 869 at Stellantis' Warren Stamping Plant will take a strike authorization vote on Monday, May 6.

Gilbert said the workers' gripes pertain to a number of health and safety issues — including leaking roofs, ventilation problems and restrooms.

They've already authorized to strike under some local contract issues, but this vote would allow a walkout at the facility, located on Mound Road in Warren, Michigan.

"Now, no deadline has been set," Gilbert clarified, reporting live on WWJ on Tuesday. "This merely authorizes a local strike."

Warren Stamping supplies more than a half-dozen Stellantis assembly plants.
