DETROIT (WWJ) A young child was injured in an accidental shooting on Detroit's west side, police said.
Detroit Police said it happened on March 1 around 9 a.m., on Artesian Street in the area of Southfield Freeway and Joy Road.
According to authorities, a child got hold of an unsecured gun inside a home and discharged it. At last check, the child remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police did not release the age or gender of the child. There's no word if any adults were home at the time, or if anyone will face charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
