Del Monte issues major recall

Del Monte canned green beans sold at Target have been recalled due to foreign objects, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It said that 8,242 cases of 24 14.5-ounce cans under Target’s “Good & Gather” label are part of the recall.

That’s more than 200,000 cans with a best buy date of Oct. 28, 2026 and Lot number 7AA 418507. They were distributed in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Per the FDA, the recall was initiated last month, on Feb. 12. The recall number is F-0627-2025 and this is listed as a Class II recall, meaning that it is “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

“Foreign objects in canned goods refer to various materials such as plastic or metal,” KYW Newsradio explained. Those who have purchased the impacted products are advised by the FDA to discard the items or take them back to the store for a refund, the station added.
