FEMA employee fired after telling Hurricane Milton assistance team to avoid houses with Trump signs

An employee for the Federal Emergency Management Agency was fired last week after it was discovered she told her survivor assistance team to avoid going to homes with President-elect Trump campaign signs.

The employee’s firing was confirmed by FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, who described the situation in a statement as “reprehensible.”

Criswell also noted in the statement that “more than 22,000 FEMA employees every day adhere to FEMA’s core values and are dedicated to helping people before, during and after disasters, often sacrificing time with their own families to help disaster survivors.”
