Aerial photos, video show Hurricane Ida's devastation

The sun rose on Monday across south Louisiana and the scope of Hurricane Ida's devastation started to come into perspective.

Major metro areas without power, homes leveled and snapped limbs littering the street, but the worst images could be seen from above as the Coast Guard allowed media to join a flight over the Grand Isle area, near where the storm made landfall at Category 4 with winds upward of 150 mph.

See the images below and the video above showing the immense damage in the area as south Louisiana continues to pick up the pieces from its latest major hurricane.
