Houston police respond to school shooting; one suspect in custody

HOUSTON (1080 KRLD)- Houston police responded to an active shooting situation at a school and a suspect is in custody.

Around 11:45 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at the school located at 4400 Anderson Road at Hiram Clarke, according to Houston police tweets.

About 15 minutes following the initial tweet, Houston police reported a suspect was in custody and they were searching the school for more possible suspects.

YES Prep Southwest Secondary school confirmed via Facebook around 1 p.m. that the suspect already in custody opened fire inside the school and no students were injured during the incident.

They urge parents to pick up their students at W. Fuqua and Hiram Clarke were police staged area for pick up.
