Kyle Rittenhouse appeared on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show on Monday and announced the launch of a group to fund lawsuits against a variety of politicians, celebrities, and athletes, including Whoopi Goldberg and LeBron James.
The 18-year-old was found not guilty in November 2021 after being charged with two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide, among other charges, related to the Aug. 25, 2020 shooting in Kenosha, WI.
Rittenhouse fatally shot two men and wounded another during protests after the non-fatal shooting of Jacob Blake by a white police officer.
"Me and my team have decided to launch the Media Accountability Project, as a tool to help fundraise and hold the media accountable for the lies they say and deal with them in court," Rittenhouse said.
Carlson then asked Rittenhouse if he plans to sue any of the news organizations that spoke about him.
"Well, right now we're looking at quite a few politicians, celebrities, athletes," Rittenhouse said. "Whoopi Goldberg is on the list. She called me a murderer, after I was acquitted by a jury of my peers. She went on to still say that.
"And there's others, don't forget about Cenk [Uygur] from the Young Turks, he called me a murderer before verdict and continues to call me a murderer."
Carlson went on to ask Rittenhouse if he'll sue the people that have called him a "white supremacist" for his actions.
"Absolutely, we are going to hold everybody who's lied about me accountable, such as everybody who's lied, called me a white supremacist," Rittenhouse said. "They're all going to be held accountable and we're going handle them in a courtroom."
During Rittenhouse's trial in November, NBA superstar LeBron James quote tweeted a video of Rittenhouse crying and said, "What tears????? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court."
Rittenhouse then appeared on the Turning Point USA YouTube show "Frontlines" on Tuesday and confirmed that James was one of the people that he'll be suing.
"I think everyone wants to know, what are your plans for LeBron James?" host Drew Hernandez asked.
"He’ll be getting a letter, too," Rittenhouse said.
He went on to add that, "Anybody who defamed me, or lied about me, we're just gonna send them a letter and then deal with them in a courtroom."
