LG has announced that it is recalling nearly 57,000 TVs and TV stands for potential “tip-over and entrapment” hazards, according to a recall notice from the Consumer Product and Safety Commission.

The notice shared that the televisions can “become unstable while on the assembled stand” and potentially fall over, bringing a risk of entrapment, injury, or death.

Because of this, four different 86-inch diagonal smart TVs, weighing approximately 100 pounds each, have been recalled.

The affected TVs were sold at retailers nationwide, including Best Buy, Costco, and Walmart. They were also sold on the retailers’ websites and Amazon.com.

The notice said that the model numbers of the recalled TVs are 86UQ8000AUB, 86UQ7070ZUD, 86UQ7590PUD, and 86NANO75UQA. Serial numbers on the recalled TVs begin with 202RM, 203RM, 204RM, 205RM, 206RM, 207RM, or 208RM.

To check TVs for potential recalls, consumers can check the back of the television’s bottom right corner or press the “mute” button on the remote three times while the TV is on.

Of the recalled items, 52,000 were sold in the United States, while the remaining 5,000 were sold in Canada and Mexico, the CPSC notice said.

Those with recalled TVs are advised to remove them from the stand immediately and store it in a safe place until reaching out to LG Electronics by calling 800-243-0000 or texting “STAND” to 256-888-9977.

More information about the recall and what consumers should do with their TVs can also be accessed on LG’s website.

The CPSC also noted in its recall notice that consumers who have their TVs mounted on the wall are safe to continue using them as normal. Still, they are advised to be aware of potential changes in any recall instructions.

So far, there have not been any injuries connected to the recalled TVs. The company did share that there have been 22 reports of “instability,” 12 of which were for the TVs tipping over, the notice said.
