The helicopters were spotted attacking Hostomel Airport outside Kyiv, but at least one helicopter was shot down by Ukrainian forces, according to officials. There were also reports of Ukrainian civilian and military casualties, as well as Russian and Ukrainian soldiers being taken into custody.
