A Maryland man stands accused of a killing spree motivated by conspiracy theories regarding the COVID vaccine. Among the victims are the man's pharmacist brother, his sister-in-law and an 83-year-old woman, police said.
Jeffrey Allen Burnham, 46, allegedly told a pal "his brother was 'killing people with the COVID shot,'" according to the statement of charges.
And then his brother, Brian Robinette, 58, was shot to death, along with his wife Sue Robinette, 57, and an 83-year-old woman. The couple was found dead in their Maryland home on Sept. 30. The elderly woman was identified by police as a "longtime family friend."
The New York Times reported that Evelyn Burnham, who lived with her son, told law enforcement officials that he believed "there was a government effort to use the vaccines to kill people, and that his brother was involved."
“He repeatedly stated ‘Brian knows something,’” according to her statement.
Burnham was arrested October 1 in Davis, West Virginia, and booked into Allegany County Detention Center on October 5 on charges of first degree murder and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. The 83-year-old woman's car was discovered missing, as was Burnham's brother's Corvette.
In the deaths, Burnham is charged with two counts each of murder in the first and second degree, as well as the use of a handgun in the commission of a crime in the Robinettes' deaths.
