A Minnesota teenager is dead after drowning in a Wisconsin lake on Saturday afternoon.
The Barron County Sheriff's Office said Monday morning that they were called to Kirby Lake in Maple Plain Township at 12:35 p.m. Saturday a on report that people were screaming for help on the lake.
Rescue crews arrived and found two subjects were in the water from overturned kayaks and that a 17-year-old male had not resurfaced.
Several rescue crews responded to the lake and the Shell Lake Fire Department located an image on sonar believed to be the missing teenager. Divers from the Chetek Fire Department located the boy who was transported via helicopter to HCMC where he later died.
That boy's name hasn't been officially released.
