A Saudia Boeing 777-300 jumbo jet plows through a flock of small birds just after take-off from Algiers on Saturday, leaving the aircraft with dents on its nose, blood-like smears across its fuselage, and apparent damage to its wings and engines.
The flight, operating as SV340 to Jeddah, landed safely at its destination where crews launched a full inspection under international safety procedures.
Images and video from inside the cabin show the aircraft striking multiple birds seconds after wheels left the runway, resulting in smeared bird remains across the critical forward surfaces.
No injuries to passengers or crew have been reported.
Authorities say the plane is now undergoing engineering checks to assess structural and engine damage.
Bird strikes remain a known hazard for commercial aircraft, particularly during low altitude take-off or landing phases.
