Professionals in the medical field who knowingly amplify COVID vaccine misinformation are “criminals,” according to Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer.
Bourla made the declaration during an interview with the think tank Atlantic Council, and he said a clear line has been drawn the world over between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated, even though he believes both camps are motivated by one main emotion: fear.
Those who received the vaccination, Bourla said, are afraid of catching COVID-19 while those who have not question the origins and development of the vaccine and are “mad that people are pressing them to get it. Those I understand. They are very good people, decent people.”
But the medical professionals who feed into that skepticism with misinformation, a group Bourla says is “small,” are the ones that he considers unconscionable.
“They are criminals,” Bourla said. “They have literally cost millions of lives.”
The entire interview was live-streamed over the internet, with a replay that is available to watch at any time.
