Real pistol disguised as Nerf gun seized by police during drug raid

(KMOX) - Police in North Carolina made a disturbing find during a drug raid last week of a pistol that was disguised as a toy Nerf gun.

The Glock model 19 pistol with a 50-round drum magazine were painted bright blue and orange with a Nerf logo on the front. The weapon was converted to resemble a toy, according to the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.

The gun was one of 20 weapons recovered from a home along with cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana and $2,300 in cash, police report. Damien Alonzo Birch, 35, was arrested on drug charges.

"Firearms of this type, while not illegal to possess, are concerning to law enforcement. Firearms, in general, are commonly seized in conjunction with searches were felony amounts of narcotics are present," police say.
