Most of us like our chicken savory and maybe a little bit sweet, but one in particular showed off its spicy side by sitting on a woman's front porch and refusing to move.

The chicken caused such a scene that police had to get involved. More than one officer, actually, as the Jonesboro, Arkansas, police department reported that both an officer and a supervisor reported to the porch for duty.

Eventually, the officers were able to chase off the chicken with what looks like a broom handle and then pick it up, smiling and laughing along the way.

Residents obviously enjoyed the light-hearted share on the Jonesboro Police Facebook page.

"What a happy fun filled post this is!!! Definitely brightened up my day!!! Thank you for your service!" Cheyenne Williams wrote on Facebook. Andrea Webb Wright added, "Great job, Ptl Swindle! To protect and serve....fried chicken!"

And despite the fact that the chicken caused a fracas in the neighborhood -- or a fricassee as the case may be -- all ended well. Police reported that the chicken lived nearby and was able to be safely turned to his home.
