New polling suggests Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump in five of seven battleground states
Vice President Kamala Harris is surging ahead of former President Donald Trump in battleground states, according to a new poll.
The Cook Political Report Swing State Project Survey shows Harris leading or tied with Trump in all but one of the seven battleground states. Overall, she holds a narrow lead of 48% to 47% in those states in the head-to-head.
According to the survey, Harris leads Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Arizona, while she’s tied with Trump in Georgia.
The only battleground state that Trump still leads is Nevada, the poll shows.
What’s more -- five other polls also released on Wednesday show Harris with the advantage.
In an ActiVote poll of 1,000 likely voters, the vice president opened up a lead of 4.8 percentage points on her opponent in a head-to-head matchup, with 52.4% of the vote to Trump's 47.6%.
A survey of 9,201 adults conducted by the Pew Research Center also showed Harris in the lead, 46% to Trump’s 45%. A month ago, Trump held a four-percentage point lead over Joe Biden in the same poll.
In a Quinnipiac University poll of 1,738 likely voters in Pennsylvania, Harris was leading Trump by three points, with 50% to his 47%.
A poll of 1,567 registered voters conducted by The Economist and YouGov shows Harris leading Trump by 4 points, 49% to 45%.
Another poll by Monmouth University among 801 registered voters has Harris ahead by 5 points, 38% to Trump’s 33%.
Meantime, two polls released Wednesday show Trump in the lead.
In a Fox News poll of 1,105 registered voters, the former president narrowly leads Harris by one point, with 50% to her 49%. Another poll of 1,001 likely voters by J.L. Partners gave Trump a 2 point lead, 43% to Harris’ 41%.
