Report: 'Power Rangers' star Jason David Frank dead at 49

According to reports, actor Jason David Frank has died

Fans of the kid’s television show “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers” were fearing the worst on social media after there were rumors Frank, who played “Tommy Oliver” the Green and White Ranger on the popular show, among other characters, had passed away.

TMZ reports the 49-year-old died in Texas, according to his representative Justine Hunt.

MMA fighter Mike Bronzoulis posted a message to Facebook saying in part “I’m still in shock.”

Walter Jones, who played the Black Ranger in the original series, posted to Instagram in part, “My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family.”

Frank embraced the fans of Power Rangers and their love of Tommy Oliver. He was a frequent guest at comic-cons across the country.

Frank was an 8th degree black belt in Karate, as well as holding black belts in other disciplines including Taekwondo and Judo.

Frank is survived by four children and it’s reported his wife recently filed for divorce.
