Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is recovering after a fall near his home in Braddock early Thursday.
It happened during an early-morning walk, according to his office.
He was taken to a local hospital, “out of an abundance of caution and later found to have had a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up” that lead to him feeling light-headed.
He suffered minor injuries to his face and jokingly said, “If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!”
Fetterman’s office says he is “doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital.”
He is staying at the hospital so “doctors can fine-tune his medication regimen.”
“Senator Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care,” is office said.
