The eyes of the media, Washington, and the American public are on Downtown Los Angeles.

Over the past two days, videos and images of protesters, looters, armed guards, rubber bullets, and burning Waymos have peppered newsfeeds. Now, many politicians are offering their two cents.

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy appeared on Fox News, where he hammered home his analogy-of-the-day: wolves and sheep.

“Number one, I think all those people need to pop a Zoloft and relax a little bit. I don’t think this situation is especially complicated,” Kennedy says. “You don't need to be an astrophysicist to figure it out. We have a wolf problem in Los Angeles. They’re not peaceful protesters. They’re wolves.”

Kennedy continues by assessing California Governor Gavin Newsom’s reaction to Trump’s decision to ramp up federal involvement, saying, “He’s a sheep. He’ll tell you, ‘I'm a sheep in sheep’s clothing.’ He thinks cops are a bigger problem than criminals.”

On Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Kennedy states, “She’s a sheep too. More sheep is not going ot stop a wolf problem. So the federal government sent in troops, and we’re stopping the wolf problem.”

“I think most Americans are thinking Stop the wolves. And who's going to pay for all this destruction?” Kennedy continues.

Fox News hosts pointed out that not all democrats are taking the same stance, such as Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, who called the events in L.A. “Anarchy.”

“I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that,” Fetterman wrote on X.

“I think Senator Fetterman is giving some wise advice, we ought to take it,” Kennedy says.

“Aside from the politics, Los Angeles is one of the greatest cities in the world,” Kennedy continued. “We shouldn’t stand by and let the wolves destroy it or devour it.”

In closing, Kennedy states his opinion on how the average American is viewing the chaos occurring in Downtown L.A..

“They’re not peaceful,” Kennedy says. “You can see it. I see what you see. The American people see what we both see. They see wolves acting like wolves…The American taxpayer and the good people of the United States saying, ‘Huh. The wolves are taking over. Who am I going to call? Gavin Newsom? Karen Bass? Or a marine?'”

Bill Cassidy emphasizes a need for ‘Law and order’ based on facts on the ground

Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy appeared on The Hill to comment on a variety of current affairs, L.A. included.

In response to questions about whether President Trump was right to send in the U.S. military, Dr. Cassidy says, “There has to be law and order... You have to protect people, and you have to protect the agents. So, at some point, you have to defer to people who have the facts. The president felt like there was an issue.”

However, on Hegseth's suggestion to take military presence further by deploying U.S. Marines for 60 days, Cassidy states that there is a historic precedent, but not something he feels is necessary at this time.

“I think it was in 1968 during the Watts riots that Marines were deployed," Cassidy says. "It’s not unprecedented. That’s back when they had severe problems,”

Cassidy continues, “But what I’ve read so far is that that’s not what’s happening in Los Angeles. On the other hand, if it's needed to restore law and order. Then sometimes things are required. But at that point, it should be dictated by the facts on the ground. Clearly, it should not be done as a demonstration.”
