CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Ghosts, goblins, witches and maybe even a few Batmans might have something in common when it comes to exposure to certain food stuffs: Food allergies.
The Teal Pumpkin Project is an online resource that provides a map of homes with teal pumpkins at their doorways this Halloween. It signals that a home is safe for trick-or-treating, even for those with food allergies.
Teal Pumpkin houses usually hand out small, non-food gifts and toys to make trick-or-treating more inclusive for costumed young ones.
The map can be found through foodallergy.org.
Simply enter your zip code, and the Teal Pumpkin map will be displayed. You can also easily sign up there for your teal pumpkin home to be added to that map.
