When it was first announced a Barbie movie was being made, many fans wondered how the doll’s world will be brought to life. With the film’s release only a few months away, fans have received a small glimpse of this world thanks to the trailer, and apparently it involved a lot of pink.

Now, it is being reported that so much pink was used building the movie sets that it actually caused an international pink shortage.

The color pink is almost always a focal point with any Barbie doll, so when production began on the upcoming ‘Barbie’ movie, the team behind the film knew everything had to have at least a little pink.

According to Cinema Blend, the Barbie Land sets were made by Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England, and so much pink paint was used it caused Rosco paint to nearly run out of that particular shade of color. “The world ran out of pink,” said production designer Sarah Greenwood.

The film is set to premiere July 21, and based on this fans can expect plenty of pink. Director Greta Gerwig claimed she “wanted the pinks to be very bright, and everything to be almost too much.” With all that pink, she definitely accomplished her goal.
