Lots of media criticism and side eye comments come out of any White House in drips and drabs -- but in the case of the Trump Administration, a top aide said on live TV that FOX News should fire the pollster producing unflattering presidential poll numbers.

Top Trump aide Stephen Miller was live on FOX when he told anchor John Roberts “It is our opinion that Fox News needs to fire its pollster. And I won’t surprise you with that … but the Fox News pollster has always been wrong about President Trump.”

Miller added that the White House “does not acknowledge any of that polling” from Fox.

That assertion was in response to this question by the host: “A lot of people think he’s spending too much time on tariffs and not enough time on the economy and lowering prices. What do you say?” Roberts later said FOX stands by its pollster.

This comes as numerous polls show a majority of Americans displeased with Trump following his first 100 days. An LA Times poll last week found that 59% of respondents disapproved of his job performance.

Trump's approval rating on the economy has fallen to 37%, a significant drop. A separate survey released on Saturday by the Associated Press-Norc Center for Public Affairs Research found that only 24% of Americans believe Trump has focused "on the right priorities" as president.

The New York Times, ABC News/The Washington Post, and Fox News polls put his approval rating at 42 percent, 39 percent, and 44 percent respectively.

Donald Trump piled on in posts on Truth Social, saying media polling practices as "not legit."

Trump claimed that legitimate polls would show his approval rating in the 60s or 70s and accused the media of bias in their polling methods.

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday: "They are negative criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I win elections big, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse."
