As his bid to return to the White House in 2024 rolls on despite multiple criminal investigations and a series of indictments in New York, former President Donald Trump spoke at a campaign rally in Iowa over the weekend.

Trump appeared in a video address before the Faith and Freedom Coalition, and he touted his pro-life bonafides as the abortion rights debate continues to rage across the country.

In particular, he cited his three Supreme Court justice appointments during his term as President. All three voted to overturn the historic precedent set by Roe v. Wade.

“Those justices delivered a landmark victory for protecting innocent life. Nobody thought it was going to happen,” Trump said as he discussed the conservative values that informed many of his decisions in the Oval Office.

“Together we achieved more for our values than any other administration in the history of our country, and it is not even close,“ he said, saying he took “historic action to protect the unborn.”

The remarks set Trump apart from many fellow Republicans across the country who have looked to downplay the abortion rights issues in the face of polls showing most Americans don’t favor the extreme restrictions taking effect in several states.

Polling continues to show that Republican voters favor a third primary nomination for Trump, who has been the Republican nominee in the last two Presidential elections.
