While some have called it a sign of mental aging, former President Donald Trump argues that he’s mixing up President Biden and former President Obama for comedic purposes.

Trump wrote about his continued mix-ups in a recent social media post, saying that it wasn’t a sign of him aging but rather something he does on purpose during campaign speeches and other appearances.

“I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country,” Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social.

The repeated gaffes have led many to call Trump a hypocrite, as he continues to criticize Biden over his mental fortitude.

The most recent slip was at an event on Veterans Day in Claremont, New Hampshire, where Trump called Obama the “current president” while talking about Tucker Carlson’s interview with Hungarian leader Viktor Orban.

In Iowa last month, Trump referred to the “Obama administration” while discussing his border wall project, and in September, he appeared to say he was leading Obama in the polls while speaking in Washington, D.C.

Still, Trump maintains that he interjects the wrong name “sarcastically,” not because he isn’t aware of who he is speaking about.

In the post, he also pushed the conspiracy theory that Obama is still influencing the government through the Biden administration. This is a point Trump has touched on numerous times, including at a campaign rally in Florida in October.

“Who’s his boss? Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein, Barack Hussein Obama,” Trump said to his supporters.

There is no proof behind Trump’s claim.

When it comes to the 2024 election, it appears that Trump and Biden will face off once again, as both continue to be the favorites in their respective parties.

But, when asked about the two men’s age in a recent poll, a majority of Americans thought they were pushing it.

According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll, 74% of Americans think Biden is too old for another term, and 50% think the same for Trump.

Still, a change for either party does not appear likely.
