A day after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that tech attorney and entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan would be his running mate on an independent ticket for president, former President Trump is praising his opponent.

Trump shared his thoughts in a post to Truth Social on Wednesday, criticizing several of the platforms RFK Jr. is campaigning on.

“RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters,” Trump wrote. “I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America.”

He then went on to criticize Shanahan, who he said was even more far left than Kennedy.

“His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is even more ‘Liberal’ than him, if that’s possible. Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, and always will be!!! It’s great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot,” Trump said. “Expect him, and her, to be indicted any day now, probably for Environmental Fraud!”

However, Trump didn’t seem to consider Kennedy an opponent of his, instead saying he was someone President Biden had to worry about.

“He is Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!” Trump wrote.

Kennedy is continuing to campaign for president despite many considering his bid a longshot. The longtime Democrat has claimed that he wants to give Americans another choice, saying that the two-party system has failed the country.

When announcing his running mate on Tuesday, he shared that Shanahan was a daughter of immigrants who “overcame every daunting obstacle and went on to achieve the highest levels of the American dream.”

“That is why I’m so proud to introduce to you, the next vice president of the United States, my fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce warrior-mom, Nicole Shanahan,” Kennedy said in his announcement.

On polls that offer Kennedy, Biden, and Trump as candidates in a hypothetical election, Trump leads with 41.5%, followed by Biden at 39.1% and Kennedy at 9.9%, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ polling index.
