A customer at a Massachusetts Wendy’s decided to open fire on Tuesday night while at the drive-through window. The gunshot struck one of the employees, who is 16 years old, reports say.

Workers at the popular Lynn, Massachusetts, location spoke with WBZ-TV about the shooting, sharing that the employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment and that the wound was non-life threatening.

The shooting took place at around 6 p.m., and the Lynn Police Department is still investigating to figure out if the shooting was targeted or random, Boston 25 reported.

CBS Boston spoke with some of those who were at the restaurant. Amy Blake shared that families were inside the building when the shooting happened.

“They’re probably terrified. I know I’m grateful that I was not in there,” Blake said. “It’s kind of one of those things where you’re at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

The restaurant is owned and operated by Hamra Enterprises, which released a statement after the shooting.

“Our number one priority is the safety of our employees and customers,” the statement said. “We are deeply disturbed by this senseless act of violence, and we are grateful to the first responders who acted quickly in this situation. We will work with local law enforcement as they continue their investigation.”
