The weather this weekend across much of the United States is a dealer's choice of troubles: Tornadoes in the middle states, floods, mudslides and blizzards in California, hail and freezing cold in the Midwest, a Nor'easter on the East Coast.

Across Georgia, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook with isolated thunderstorms expected in north and central Georgia possibly producing pea-to-dime sized hail or winds near 40 mph. "Scattered thunderstorms are expected on Saturday which may be strong to severe, capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and frequent lightning," per OnlineAthens.com.

DelawareOnline.com adds that "blockbuster snowfall" amounts are expected this weekend to DC, VA, and MD, according to the latest snow forecast at NOAA's NWS Weather Prediction Center. "The rapidly strengthening storm near the Mid-Atlantic coast could develop into a nor'easter, with any snow expected to start in DC on Sunday, Feb. 22 and ending Monday, Feb. 23," according to the latest NOAA forecast.

Meanwhile, a great white shark is circling Gulf States and the National Weather Service found that an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds of 90 mph touched down in Washington Parish, New Orleans, this week. The tornado tracked south of Franklinton through central Washington Parish for 11.78 miles.

Above-normal temperatures were enjoyed in Florida this week, with some temps possibly setting record highs, according to the National Weather Service, but hopefully no one got to used to it because ...

Another cold front is in the forecast for this weekend, sending temps dropping into the 30s and 40s across several areas of the Sunshine State and bringing a freeze. In Memphis, Tennessee, temperatures this weekend could dip into the 40s.

In California, FOX Weather reported first responders are battling "heavy rain and flooding in the southern part of the state while blizzard conditions are pummeling the Sierra." Storms flooded both Los Angeles and San Francisco this week, and more rain is in the forecast for L.A., with a very rare winter storm warning in effect until 7 a.m. Friday along the 5 Freeway corridor north of the city.

A strong storm system is moving through the Midwest, with heavy snowfall expected, affecting the Upper Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes. But the eyes of the country are mostly turned to the East Coast, New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, and Rhode Island, where a second Nor'Easter could strike the coast, lashing it with heavy winds and snow.

But the level of threat is still a question mark because it depends on how closely the storm coming down from Canada tracks to the East Coast.

"Even a 50-100 mile jog east or west with the storm will result in less or more snow for millions," the FOX Forecast Center said Friday.
