A Pittsburgh woman has been charged by police for posing as a FedEx worker to steal hundreds of dollars worth of packages. According to local authorities, the woman dressed in complete uniform while stealing the packages.

The woman, identified by police as Laura Woester, is now facing a misdemeanor theft charge after police said she stole several packages on Nov. 4 from Pittsburgh’s Mount Washington neighborhood.
Woester was caught on camera stealing packages from the homes’ security cameras. She was seen on video sporting a face mask and black and purple FedEx uniform.
While neighbors reported Woester looked like a delivery driver, seeing her checking out homes with a black Kia SUV trailing behind her made it obvious she was not who she appeared to be.
After checking out a home, she reportedly would run up, grab the packages and run back to the waiting car, WPXI reported.
Keith Bates, a resident, shared with WPXI that when perch poachers steal packages, it isn’t always the latest tech or an expensive product.
“They think it’s easy money. How do they know what’s in that package? It could be somebody’s heart medicine or something,” Bates said. “It’s a bad thing to do… She must not have no heart or soul.”
Resident’s shared that at one point, Woester knew she had been caught on camera, so she went back to her car, put on a camo jacket and different mask before returning to steal more packages.
FedEx shared with WPXI that they have no record of her ever working for the company and are unclear on how she got the uniform.
Police shared that Woester has had past run-ins, and they are familiar with her. Currently, she does not have a court date set.
