Police in Slidell received a peculiar call over the weekend when someone reported a fight involving an assault with a sandwich after a restaurant interaction went south.
The Slidell Police Department shared what started the alleged fight in a Facebook post. According to the department, a customer caught a bad attitude from their sandwich maker and decided to return the same attitude.
The customer then ordered her sandwich, to which the worker "made the order wrong," but the department could not tell whether or not it was on purpose.
After being displeased with how the sandwich was made, the customer allegedly pushed the sandwich off the counter and onto the floor, demanding her order be completed correctly.
The department shared that the worker allegedly picked up the sandwich and hurled it "like a Nolan Ryan fastball" into the customer's face while screaming expletives.
The customer then reportedly called her sister for "backup," and once she arrived, an "all-out brawl ensued," the department shared.
At this point, the department was called by a bystander who reported what was happening, and officers arrived at the scene and broke up the fight between the parties involved.
The department did not share what establishment the fight occurred in.
The department shared that the sister and the sandwich maker were arrested and charged with simple battery, and everyone involved has been banned from the business.
