DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are turning to the public for any information about about a shooting in southwest Detroit after a driver wounded by gunfire caught the attention of a state trooper on Wednesday morning.
Michigan State Police said troopers were working the scene of a crash on southbound I-75 near Outer Drive in Detroit when a male driver in a Chevrolet Cobalt pulled up to them around 8:45 a.m. on December 20.
The driver stated he had been shot in southwest Detroit. Troopers called out an ambulance, which took the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
His condition is unknown at this time.
The case has been handed over to the Detroit Police Department who asking for the public's help in gathering information.
