NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Michael Cohen is heading back to home confinement -- again -- after a federal judge on Thursday ordered his release from an upstate New York prison by Friday afternoon.
At a hearing in Manhattan federal court Thursday, Judge Alvin Hellerstein said Cohen, President Trump's former lawyer, was sent back to prison on July 10 in retaliation for failing to agree a day earlier to not to publish a book about Trump as one of multiple conditions for serving the remainder of his three-year prison term on home confinement.
Hellerstein said Cohen’s First Amendment rights were violated when he was ordered back to the facility.
