DETROIT (WWJ) — State police troopers have arrested a Detroit teenager who rammed into their cruiser with a stolen truck — with a baby inside.
Michigan State Police say it happened on Detroit's west side around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Troopers spotted the pickup stolen out of Taylor near I-96 and Schaefer. They followed it to a gas station at Joy Road and Greenfield.
When they confronted the driver, he put the truck in reverse and hit one of the patrol cars. As he tried to drive away, one trooper was able to tase him. The 18-year-old Detroit man was ultimately arrested.
Troopers later found an 18-year-old woman and a 1-year-old boy inside the stolen truck.
No one was hurt. Charges for the teen are pending.
The stolen vehicle was towed from the scene for Taylor police and their investigation.
