(WWJ) Wayne County Prosecutors have charged a 15 year old in connection with a deadly stabbing.
Only July 26, Detroit Police officers found 22 year old Ejon Banks with several stab wounds near Rosa Parks Boulevard and Longfellow Street. Banks was transported to the hospital and died from his injuries.
An investigation allegedly revealed the teen was with Banks before he was stabbed, and police say surveillance footage shows the victim being robbed of his gun before being attacked. The teenage suspect was arrested on August 5.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged him with one count each of homicide and armed robbery. He has been charged as "adult-designated", meaning the judge can choose whether he is punished as a juvenile, or to revise his sentence to the level of an adult if he is not rehabilitated in juvenile detention.
The teen’s identity has not been released.
