More than 25 years since the last legit 'Ace Ventura' film, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the writers behind 2020's 'Sonic The Hedgehog,' are officially working on 'Ace Ventura 3' in conjunction with Amazon.
The news was revealed in a blog post on Friday, which noted that fans have been clamoring for a third installment in the 'Pet Detective' franchise and that during the pandemic "audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories."

The film's star, Jim Carrey, hasn't been confirmed for the film, but it is notable that he did work with the film's writers when he played Dr. Robotnik in 'Sonic The Hedgehog'. Production company Morgan Creek previously mentioned wanting to do make a new 'Ace Ventura' film and that when it happens they'd like for it to be in the same spirit as the original.
