Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and former Giants first-round pick Kadarius Toney created some stir on social media on Monday by trolling his former team on Instagram following their 40-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
It was Toney’s first post since he deleted his Instagram after he dropped three passes in a Week 1 loss to the Lions on Thursday night.
While many fans took notice, Giants cornerback Adoree’ Jackson said he did not even see it and mostly shrugged it off when told about it while appearing on WFAN’s “The Brandon Tierney & Sal Licata Show” on Tuesday.
“That’s the nature of the game we play,” Jackson said. “When things are good, things are good. When they’re bad, they’re bad. End of the day we gave people ammo to say and do things in their discretion. We lost that game. At the end of the day we can’t fault anybody for saying anything about us.”
While Toney may be engaging in some schadenfreude, Jackson and the Giants are turning their attention to next week against the Arizona Cardinals before a challenging stretch of games that includes the 49ers, Seahawks, Dolphins and Bills – all of which are on the road aside from the game against Seattle.
“I view the first five weeks as a tell of who we’re going to be as a team,” Jackson said. “I think you learn about yourself, learn about the guys around you …first couple games of who you’re gonna be and what you’re gonna be as a team. Excited for this run and five-week journey with the guys and understanding who we’re going to be and what we’re going to showcase for ourselves.”
