(670 The Score The Bears have unveiled a new orange alternate helmet, which the team will debut during its game against the Commanders on Oct. 13 at Soldier Field.
The Bears' new look comes as the NFL has relaxed its rules for teams wearing alternate helmets. It marks the first time Chicago will wear a color other than navy blue for its helmet.
"We believe we have the best uniforms in sport, certainly among the most iconic. So, we're not looking to overhaul it. We just want to make enhancements to the existing look from time to time and we think this is a great enhancement," Bears chairman George McCaskey said in a statement. "I'm very excited for this modification. I like that it's staying within the traditional Bears look. We're excited about them and hope the fans will be too."
The Bears will wear the new helmets with their orange alternate uniforms, which made a comeback during the 2019 season. The team will also have this look during its game at the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 30.
