On the same day that Michigan State fired Mel Tucker, a potential candidate to replace him said he has no interest in the job.
That would be Kansas State's Chris Klieman.
Klieman has been bandied about as a target for Michigan State after he led the Wildcats to the Big 12 title last season, his fourth in Manhattan. And it sounds like that's where he'll be staying.
Asked Wednesday on Sirius XM's Big 12 Radio about his name being linked to the Michigan State opening, Klieman said, "I'll be sticking in Manhattan and will not be a candidate for that job."
The response is no surprise. Klieman, 56, just signed an eight-year, $44 million contract with Kansas State, where the Wildcats are 33-21 under his watch.
