New Orleans Pelicans' star CJ McCollum is joining ESPN to serve as a "multi-platform analyst."

As he became a star during his four seasons at Lehigh University (2009-2013), McCollum also completed a journalism degree, so when you combined his excellent playing career thus far, he seems very qualified to work at the four-letter network.

"I am excited to bring what I feel is my unique perspective, based on my vast knowledge of the game that I’ve gained during my nine years as a player in the NBA,” McCollum said in a statement released by ESPN. "To have an opportunity to put my journalism background to use on the largest stage with the many talented professionals at ESPN is a dream come true."

In addition to appearing on the alternate broadcast of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, McCollum is working with ESPN to create a new podcast and will be a color commentator during the network's coverage of the NBA Summer League. On top of all that -- and, of course, playing in the league -- ESPN says it plans to utilize McCollum on many of the shows across its network.
