Ben Johnson, you are spared.
Just when Eminem was ready to roast you for ditching the Lions for a head coaching job elsewhere, you decided on Tuesday to stay in Detroit, for at least another year. And now Eminem can stop "recording this diss track," he joked Tuesday night via X.
"Thank you for staying!!!" said Em, adding, "Let's run it back next year!!"
Detroit's own 15-time Grammy Award-winning rapper was the Lions biggest, baddest fan this season, showing up frequently for home games at Ford Field and revving up the crowd. He was also in San Francisco for the Lions' 34-31 loss to the 49ers in the NFC title game and had a rather ... pointed message for Niners fans.
He embraced being part of the team, as he said, in a viral tweet that showed Eminem playing the part of Jared Goff on the Lions, from the movie 8 Mile.
Johnson's return is big for Dan Campbell and the Lions, one of only two teams this season, along with the 49ers, who ranked in the top five in both passing and rushing. They ranked third overall in yards and their offense has been a top-five unit in both of Johnson's seasons as coordinator and play-caller.
