The Warriors might need to clear a spot for Tom Izzo on the team’s charter plane.

The legendary Michigan State coach was in the house at Chase Center Wednesday night to support a couple of alums – Warriors star Draymond Green and Lakers rookie Max Christie.

Before the game, Draymond got to share a quick hug and chat with Izzo, who was on the floor for warmups.

Afterwards, Draymond admitted that he always wants to put on a good showing when Izzo is in the building. He went out and scored 20 points, with 10 rebounds and four assists while asserting his dominance on both ends of the floor in a victory to keep Golden State's season alive.

Draymond is still a key figure to the dynasty in Year 11, after he starred for Izzo at Michigan State from 2008-12.

“I mean, that's my guy,” Draymond said. “I think you all know the love that I have for Coach Izzo. When he takes time out of his schedule to come out here and support me, like I try to play my best.”

Draymond was always something of a positionless ‘tweener, but he grew into the Big Ten Player of the Year by his senior season. Bob Myers and the Warriors took a flier on Green with the No. 35 pick, making him perhaps the greatest second-round pick in NBA history.

All thanks to Izzo.

“When he's in the building it just always lights a fire under me and I'm always appreciative of him taking the time out of his schedule,” Green said. “ Man, he got so many things going on. Fundraiser here, this thing there, recruiting here. Plus coaching a team and running a program. A family. Just a million things going on. I just try to show my appreciation before his presence with my effort when he does come.”
