Not quite Boat Trip Part Deux, but a little bye week accident will sideline Giants safety Xavier McKinney for the time being.
McKinney posted on his Twitter account Monday morning that during a bye week trip to Mexico, he had “a little accident” on a guided ATV sightseeing tour and suffered a hand injury that will keep him out for “a few weeks” according to him:
McKinney did not give any further details, other than saying he’ll work hard to get back as soon as possible, and head coach Brian Daboll will hopefully address the situation in his first post-bye media session later Monday.
The 6-2 Giants entered their bye off a loss in Seattle, and will be gearing up for a battle with the Texans, who are coming off a mini-bye after playing Thursday night, on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
McKinney has 38 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and four passes defensed in eight games this season.
