In his first game with the Packers, Micah Parsons is ready to renew hostilities with the Lions.

"I felt like Dallas and Detroit already had a rivalry, I already got that rivalry built up," Parsons told reporters Thursday in Green Bay. "Bro, I’m excited to play them. I never liked Detroit. I never liked ‘em."

The Cowboys played the Lions in each of Parsons' final three seasons in Dallas, though Parsons was sidelined for last year's game when Detroit won in a rout. He had two sacks in a 24-6 win for the Cowboys in 2022 and several quarterback pressures in a 20-19 win for the Cowboys in 2023 that featured a controversial finish.

"Even when I was in Dallas, it was just always a heavyweight fight every time they came in," Parsons said. "They kind of got our guys when I was injured last year — the whole team was injured — so I just think it’s a fun way how things work. I’m excited to play them, I know they’re excited, and it’s going to go all 12 to 15 rounds."

Parsons is expected to play in Sunday's game, but his status is somewhat in doubt due to a lingering back injury and the fact that he didn't participate in training camp during his contract dispute with the Cowboys.

Lions offensive coordinator John Morton said Thursday, "He’s a heck of a player and we’ll have to be aware of him and where he’s at. We’ll find out how much he’s going to play. We’ll have certain things for him."

He added, "I’m really just concentrating on our guys and it’s all about us right now, making sure the details, the fundamentals of everything are correct because this is a good defense."
