We saw it in Kansas City. We saw it in Green Bay. And we saw and heard it again on Sunday in Tampa Bay.

Lions fans showed up in big numbers Sunday at Raymond James Stadium and “let’s go Lions” chants could be heard as the clock wound down on Detroit’s convincing 20-6 win over the Buccaneers.

Despite losing David Montgomery (ribs) to an injury in the first half, the Lions controlled the game – especially in the second half – with nearly 400 yards of total offense and 15 more plays run than the Bucs. Detroit went an efficient 9-for-16 on third down conversions.

Jared Goff threw for 353 yards and two touchdowns – one to Amon-Ra St. Brown and a 45-yard bomb to Jameson Williams – as the Lions improved to 5-1 on the season. It’s their best start since the 2011 season.

St. Brown had 124 yards on 12 catches, while Craig Reynolds had 43 yards of total offense – and one massive block – in relief of the injured Montgomery.

Alex Anzalone again led the team with nine tackles, while Julian Okwara had the lone sack of Baker Mayfield. Will Harris picked Mayfield off on the second defensive possession of the game, thanks to a tipped pass.

As the Lions – and their fans – travel to Baltimore next Sunday, a win over the Ravens would give Detroit a 6-1 record for the first time since 1956.
