As Aaron Rodgers once again stirred up controversy on the Pat McAfee Show by suggesting Jimmy Kimmel’s name could be on the Jeffrey Epstein list, Gio wondered when the Jets would finally put a stop to the quarterback’s weekly interviews on the show.
“I remember every single week, Ben Roethlisberger used to go onto a local station and say a bunch of things about the team that he wouldn’t say in the locker room…until the team shut it down,” Gio said of the former Steelers quarterback having a controversial weekly radio spot. “If I’m Woody Johnson, I’ll find you a way to get you whatever you’re getting paid by Pat McAfee…I’ll get you that million. You can’t do this show anymore. You’re killing us. You killed us for an entire year, everyone has to respond to it.”
Rodgers’ comments on McAfee have become more of a focal point than the actual football this season for the Jets, and Gio says it can’t continue. Still, he doesn’t see anything changing, as he doesn’t see the team wanting to risk ruffling Rodgers’ feathers.
“He’s gotta get off that show, and the Jets have to do something about it,” Gio said. “But they don’t have the guts to stand up to him and say that.”
