Anyone that grew up playing sports has imagined announcers calling their shots as they play game. For one golfer, he recently had that dream become reality, as announcer Jim Nantz decided to give his golf shot the professional treatment. Video of Nantz giving pay-by-play for the man’s golf game recently went viral, as many are calling it a childhood dream come true.
As seen in the now viral video, a golfer is playing a round at the Pebble Beach golf course in California. Nantz, who lives near the golf course, was on hand as the golfer was taking a shot, and decided to do what he does best; announce the shot. “Look at that move. Raw strength…and he absolutely savages one around the corner… He leads Woods and Koepka by one,” Nantz says in the video.
Nantz made the call of the random player just one week after calling the Masters, one of professional golf’s biggest tournaments of the year. The golfer was clearly thrilled to have Nantz calling his shot, even with the added pressure. Hopefully it didn’t mess up his score too much.
