ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Jordan Kyrou caused quite a media storm on himself Thursday after his comments --or rather lack of one--- on Craig Berube.

On Thursday, after the team's optional skate, Kyrou was asked on his relationship with now-former Blues head coach and all he had to say was nine words.

"I've got no comment. He's not my coach anymore," Kyrou told reporters including The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford.

Kyrou's comments would spread like wild fire Thursday on social media both domestically and nationally to the point when his name was introduced during team intro's, the Blues fans made sure to boo him after his comments.

The booing would take place the whole game Thursday night, a 4-2 win against the Ottawa Senators and interim head coach Drew Bannister's first win.

Kyrou didn't have a terrible game after being put back on a line with Robert Thomas and Buchnevich Thursday. That line scored three goals, with Kyrou getting an assist on Buchnevich's goal. But Kyrou admitted he heard the boos and it appeared to have hit him emotionally.

"I see where they're coming from with how my comment sounded." said Kyrou postgame. "It's just tough. I love playing here so much, it's just tough to hear the fans booing me there."

Kyrou said he was only trying to focus on how to get better and help the Blues to win games. He said he saw the backlash after waking up from his afternoon nap.

"I'm just really trying to focus on the future here and focus on what I can do to help our team winning and help get the wins for the boys." said Kyrou.

Kyrou took his chance to praise Berube after the game.

“Obviously I respect Chief,” said Kyrou. “He’s been my coach for the whole time I’ve been here, right? So I respect everything he’s done here. He’s done a great job. He won a Cup."
