Kayvon Thibodeaux reportedly has sprained MCL, will miss only three to four weeks

The Giants may have escaped the worst-case scenario with Kayvon Thibodeaux’s knee, but it looks like the heralded rookie may start his first NFL season late.

Per multiple reports, initial tests on Thibodeaux’s knee showed a sprained right MCL but no damage to his ACL of meniscus, and the expectation is that he will be sidelined for three to four weeks. The Giants are reportedly hopeful he will be ready for the season opener against the Titans, which is three weeks away, but it’s likely he could miss the opener and maybe another game.

Thibodeaux was hurt in the second quarter of Sunday's win over Cincinnati, when he was cut-blocked by Bengals tight end WHO. KT went down and immediately grabbed his knee, but he got up under his own power and was seen walking around after a brief consultation in the blue medical tent.

Later, as he was walking in the halls of MetLife Stadium, a reporter asked Thibodeaux how he was, and he responded, “we’re good, good news.”
