Killian Hayes hasn't played a game in over two months, but he's ready to get back on the floor.
The Pistons' top draft pick has been cleared for 'on-court basketball activities' after showing 'significant positive improvement' from the hip subluxation he suffered in the seventh game of his career, the team announced on Tuesday.
Hayes will now begin a three-week progression toward his return to full-contact practices and game action and will be re-evaluated thereafter. Should he return three weeks from today, the Pistons would have 22 games left on their schedule.
The seventh overall pick in last year's draft and Detroit's point guard of the future, the 19-year-old Hayes struggled prior to his injury. Some more game action down the stretch would do him well heading into the offseason.
