There's been plenty of discussion over the last half-decade about Jim Harbaugh's future at Michigan. Mixed results against the Big Ten -- not to mention no results against Ohio State -- have made fans (and boosters, presumably) a little wary about Harbaugh's long-term status with the program, and on Tuesday morning, ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit joined 97.1's Karsch and Anderson to give his thoughts.

"With Michigan, I'm pulling for Jim," he said. "Seventh year, a lot of changes with assistants. New defensive coordinator. I always tell people to name the last great Michigan quarterback. There for a while, they had about a 15 year run of having a great quarterback. I think you need to almost go as far back as [Chad] Henne, as far as the last great one. Think of the last great -- we're talking great -- Michigan back that they had. Who would that be? Mike Hart? He was a solid college running back. Think of the receivers they've had in the 80's and the 90's. They've been OK at that spot. And then the other thing is, Michigan beat a lot of other teams just with the defense. How sound they were on that side of the ball. I'm going back to the glory years of when Michigan was Michigan. And maybe they're headed in that direction, bringing a 4-3 scheme in, bringing an NFL scheme in. Maybe that'll be right. But until they're right at quarterback, I don't know how much things will change. They've got to get that spot right."
