This will be no ordinary offseason for Jared Goff.
"I'm looking forward to becoming a dad," the Lions quarterback said Thursday night on the red carpet of the NFL Honors, via People Magazine.
Goff and his wife Christen Harper announced that they are expecting their first child, a girl, at the start of the summer.
Goff, a finalist for NFL MVP this season, said that he’s "always dreamt" of becoming a father: "I know it'll add a new perspective to life, and it'll be great."
Goff and Harper, a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot last summer. Goff said that he "can't wait to watch her be a mom," with Harper, 31, saying, "I know he's going to be the best (dad), and it's just gonna be exciting to do this together as a team."
"We're just excited to enjoy this special time together and just soak up every second," said Harper.
